| Description: | During a honey harvest at the end of spring, the harvested bee colonies of an apiary have been multiplied by shook swarm formation. Subsequently, each of the shook swarms, which had been queenless until that time, was given a newly mated and caged queen; this was followed a 24-hour resting phase in a cool dry place in which the shook swarm boxes are placed on paper. This clip initially documents the traces that have collected on the paper underlays after this resting phase and whose subsequent examination allows an estimation of the infestation with varroa mites. In the following sequences a woman beekeeper demonstrates how shook swarms are transferred from their shook swarm boxes in their new magazine hives. From the film: Dustmann, Jost H.
